The
Facility
Faris Baseball School is a state of the art facility that offers
the player every tool needed to improve his game. We have two batting
tunnels, batting -T and soft-toss stations, video analysis, two pitching
mounds with catch nets. We have a lobby/waiting area and restroom for
your convenience.
Hitting Philosophy
At Faris Baseball we believe
that the single most difficult thing to do in any sport is to hit a
baseball. If you are successful as a hitter you fail seven out
of ten times. We only believe in one way of hitting. Whether you’re
eight or eighteen, we teach the same fundamentals. Over the years we
have come up with a method of hitting that is very simple and easily
understood. We concentrate on the stance, the stride and trigger and
the swing. The actions are broken down into body parts and are presented
in an easily understood manner. We realize that while all hitters are
different, all good hitters share some common denominators. We want
to take each hitters physical tools and make them into the best hitters
that they can be, with an emphasis on maximizing bat quickness, bat
speed and consistency.
At Faris Baseball your hitting mechanics will be analyzed initially.
We then impart to you a hitting philosophy, or approach to hitting that
will enable you to succeed. Hitting, while difficult to master, can be
made relatively easy with correct fundamental knowledge. Pitching Philosophy
Your mechanics will be analyzed and corrected when necessary.
The mental approach to pitching or situational pitching will be
stressed. Areas covered will include grips for all pitches, developing
pitch angle, wind-up, pitching from the stretch, leg lift, hip
rotation,
balance point, hand position/hand separation, point of extension,
front side explosion, weight transfer, release point, and follow
through. Ball movement and pitch selection will be stressed. Learn
five ways to hold runners on. Learn a new change-up in one or two
sessions. We have devised a set of delivery drills that teach, and
reinforce the six points of proper mechanics. These drills not only
get your arm ready, but your whole body loose before you take the
mound. Our pitchers simulate game innings, throwing 12 - 15 quality
pitches as opposed to mindlessly throwing 50 - 80. This program allows
the pitcher to work up to five or six innings before the first high
school practice.
